Florida contractor license records
These records come from DBPR's construction license records. By DBPR's own statement, those records exclude licenses that are null and void, delinquent, or involuntarily inactive — those licenses never appear here. What the records hold is licenses recorded as current (active or inactive), on probation, or suspended, and this directory prints each with the status DBPR records for it.
Source: Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR) — Construction Industry Licensing Board — records as of November 3, 2026. Records change; the board’s own DBPR Verify a License is the current source.
Certified or Registered — the distinction that matters
Florida issues two scopes of contractor credential, and the distinction decides where the holder may work. A CERTIFIED license is issued by the state board and is valid statewide. A REGISTERED license is recorded with the state but rests on a local certificate of competency: it authorizes work only in the locality that granted it. Every Florida record on this site prints which scope it is.
Registered means locality-limited
A Florida Registered license is not a statewide license. It rests on a certificate of competency from a local jurisdiction and authorizes contracting only there. Before hiring a Registered contractor outside the city on this record, ask which jurisdiction's certificate the license rests on — and confirm it in DBPR's own search.
The licensee of record is a person
Every Florida construction license is held by a qualifying individual. When the license qualifies a business, the business name titles this record and the qualifier — the person the license stands on — is named on the page. A contract should name the qualifier or the qualified business exactly as recorded.
Records the board lists as SUSPENDED: 127 suspended records → — published with their recorded status, never presented as current.

What if there is no record?
A name or number missing from these pages is not in DBPR's published construction license records as of November 3, 2026. DBPR's records by their own scope exclude null-and-void, delinquent, and involuntarily inactive licenses, so a license in one of those states would not appear here — nor would a record under a different name, a different license class, or a different board. Absence from these records is a statement about the records.
To check the board’s live records, use DBPR Verify a License. If the board’s records should contain a record that is missing here, tell us — corrections are answered within two business days.
