Contractor license records are public, but they live in fifty different lookup tools, most of them built for the board, not for the person about to sign a contract. LicenseOfRecord brings the boards’ own published records together in one place, in the boards’ own words, with the date of the board’s records on every page — so a homeowner can check the record before hiring, and read what the record actually says.

This site shows the boards’ records; it is not itself a licensing board or government agency, and no board endorses it. Nothing here adds to or changes the underlying record. Where a page and the board’s live lookup disagree, the board is right and the page is a defect to report.

There are no ratings, reviews, rankings, or endorsements here, and no way to buy placement. A record is present because the board’s records contain it, printed as the board recorded it.
